CTAM - How Cable Grows

a thousand words

PinTAM 2008
October 29, 2008

The first annual PinTAM for CTAM of the Rocky Mountains was a great success. Fourteen teams
competed to become the first champions. That title went to Cheryl Davis, Sean Curry both of
Time Warner Cable, Bob Gold from Discovery Networks and Jeremy Harris. The steady flow of
food and drink helped sustain the energy for the bowlers. There were even a few turkeys
spotted on the lanes.

A special thanks to Discovery and the Sportsman Channel for their sponsorship support!

Pictures are forthcoming!

March 27, 2008

The CTAM-RM chapter hosted its annual mixer at the Pepsi Center, on March 27,
for the Denver Nuggets vs. Dallas Mavericks basketball game. The event was
attended by about 40 guests and proceeds were donated to the Greg Liptak Jr.
Foundation. A great time was had by all, as the Nuggets played an amazing game
and defeated Dallas 118 to 105! We look forward to seeing everyone this weekend,
in Vail, for SkiTAM.

CTAM National TeleSeminar: The Digital Transition
February 20, 2008

The 2008 CTAM Teleseminar was a fascinating presentation and discussion highlighting the
2009 digital broadcast transition. The national panel featured a wide range of experts from
cable and broadcast discussing the current preparations, activities and planning for this event.
The national panel was followed-up by a local discussion led by Charlie Kennamer, Comcast's,
VP, Engineering Policy and Industry Affairs and a member of Comcast's "Office of the CTO"
and is integral in the planning for the Digital Transition. Charlie helped our local audience
discuss some of the technical preparations being made and answered many questions to
help clarify the complicated issues surrounding the digital transition.

Along with providing a chance for our existing members to network and socialize, we also offered a new member offer of free membership to the Rocky Mountain Chapter included with price of the event. The social mixer was followed by a chance to absorb some art and culture, including a self-guided tour of the special featured exhibit for the Louvre- Artisans and Kings. The event was attended by 50 chapter members, including 9 new members!
